Earth Mother Meditation

I had passed her many times on my trips into these woods....

I have traveled into this area with my sons, and my ex-husband..and she silently waited until the day I again visited..this time with a woman friend from Washington state. As she...this ancient tree...felt the safety of the feminine energies in her woods, a desire swept over her to be seen for all that she was...all that she would represent to those who's eyes would rest upon her. And so it was, that this beautiful day, as I passed her on the path...one more time...she called to me, causing me to stop and turn toward her.... seeing the very essence of the Earth Mother in full form...manifest in the strength and solidity of the tree.
In an earlier time...she had been green and rich brown with life. A tall sturdy tree with expansive foliage that offered shade to all who passed beneath her branches....a home for the birds, and squirrels, and insects....and fairies and divas.

She flourished in this state for many, many years...more than a hundred perhaps...just a blink of an eye...perhaps. And then one day...for whatever the reason...man came and altered her very being in a most dramatic and painful way. Perhaps it was because she had begun to decay.....and He felt the need to cut away the parts that he saw as dangerous......perhaps it was just because she stood so close to man's path...as the guardian...not seen as such. But as She was altered...as the mass of arms, and foliage was removed...a new aspect of her being was more clearly revealed....and the beauty of all that she embodied was not removed by this change, but transformed into an image so clear and powerful....that she would, in this clarity, speak to all who's eyes could see of the ultimate connection in the circle of all things....of Nature, and the Divine Feminine...to Humankind.

In the beginning of our human existence on this planet home Mother Earth...the two leggeds evolved to an original understanding of the pure essence of life...and the Divine. As we..the original earth beings...came to see and feel the cycle of life.....birth, life, death, rebirth....we understood that the human feminine...and the earth feminine mother were connected...and in essence...one in the same. We shared the power and the connection...and grew in the understanding.........and then over time, grew away from the understanding. Our home...this Earth Mother...reveals to us again in this most appropriate time...in this most powerful visual image..the connection again....Feminine to Earth...Womankind to Divine....Earth Mother the Goddess....The Divine Feminine within each of us...the Goddess manifest in human form.

She is so perfect in her physical representation...even bearing an open scar on her right breast...but a fully intact breast and nipple on the left side...the in-tact feminine side....giver of all life. To all whose eyes fall upon this image.... Remember...
Remember who You are...
Remember that She is a part of You...
Remember that You are a part of Her....
One....with the Earth Mother.
