Ancient Mother of Healing and Life
Send the blessings of health and vitality
Open Us to the gifts of insight and understanding

Teach us to listen to the rhythms of the body
Teach us to use the powerful tools of self-healing
Help us to listen to the truths spoken by our bodies

Show Us the power of living in harmony with our bodies
Open us to the gifts of stillness and rejuvination of spirit
Heal our hearts and minds of fear, that we may enter true health

Oh, Ancient Mother-Goddess May we be honored by your healing gifts

Herbal Healing

Herbs bring us the healing powers of the Earth. The complex magic of the plant world offers us an abundant source of healing properties. Indigenous peoples around the world have understood these powerful allies for generations.

A hundred years ago, the average cottage in almost every country, had a carefully tended herb garden growing. It provided the necessary medicines for the family. In Asia, South America, Africa, and rural Europe there are still those who understand and are skilled in the traditional arts of Herbalism. In America there is a growing respect for the power of herbs and skilled herbalists.

Some widely used herbs today are Comfrey, St John's Wort, Dill, Slippery Elm Bark, Coltsfoot, Golden Seal, Vervain, Eyebright, Ginseng, Valerian, Corn Silk, Yellow Dock, Skullcap, Borage, Uva Ursi and many others.

Herbs are powerful healers, but they can also be very toxic if used incorrectly. Before using herbs it is important to consult with a trained herbaliist or reserarch very thoroughly.

Susan Weed is a widely respected herbalist in the USA, and teaches the ancient science of herbalism to a new generation of practicioners.

When healing and reclaiming your health,  it is important to

shed illness, just like a bird sheds a damaged or diseased feather.
